What the tear trough actually describes
The tear trough is the transition between the lower eyelid and upper cheek. When this area looks hollow, it can create a shadow that people often describe as a dark circle. However, not every dark circle is caused by volume loss.
Pigment, visible vessels, skin thinness, puffiness and true eye bags can all produce under-eye darkness. Filler is therefore most relevant when contour depression is an important part of the appearance, not simply because the area looks dark.

Tear trough versus aegyo-sal filler
Tear-trough filler and aegyo-sal filler have different aesthetic goals. Tear-trough treatment aims to improve a hollow transition below the eye, while aegyo-sal filler intentionally adds a small roll of volume close to the lower lash line.
Newline's price list has separate rows for Under-eye Aegyo and Tear Trough, confirming that the clinic treats them as different indications. A patient should therefore name the exact goal rather than asking generally for under-eye filler.
When filler may not be the right answer
If puffiness, prominent eye bags, pigmentation or visible vessels are the main concern, adding filler may not address the problem and can sometimes make the area look heavier. Skin quality may also be better suited to a booster such as Rejuran I in selected cases.
This is why a dedicated tear-trough page needs strong exclusion criteria. It should not become a generic dark-circle page.
Conservative planning and travel timing
The under-eye area is visually sensitive, and swelling or bruising can be noticeable. International patients should avoid assuming they will look unchanged immediately after treatment.
Send natural-light photographs and disclose previous under-eye filler, surgery, thread procedures or dissolving treatments. Ask about the product, amount, expected swelling and whether the clinic recommends waiting before flying or attending an important event.
